Pharmacy Month forms part of the official Health calendar. The PSSA joins the National Department of Health (NDoH), South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and Independent Community Pharmacy Association (ICPA) to bring a unified message – this is who we are, this is what we do, this is what the consumer of our services can expect.
Pharmacy Month is a unique opportunity to market the pharmacy profession, bringing together pharmacists from all sectors to communicate to the public the value that the profession brings in providing quality healthcare.
2026 marks the first time that the Pharmacy Month message is made available in South African Sign Language as well. View the video here.
The profession is encouraged to share their stories using these tag lines: #PharmacyMonth2026 #AskYourPharmacist #YourPartnerInHealth and send short write-ups and images of Pharmacy Month activities to info@pssa.org.za.
Pharmacists are encouraged to disseminate material and educate the public on the many roles of pharmacists in healthcare services. The pharmacy profession is urged to use Pharmacy Month to promote the role of the pharmacist in the community, and visibly demonstrate what the profession can do in the healthcare sector.
